Shimron Hetmyer took a splendid catch to dismiss Jason Roy in the IPL 2023 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. The West Indies cricketer's fielding effort came in the second ball of the third over which was being bowled by Trent Boult. While the English star seemed to have timed and placed his flick short superbly and just past the deep square leg fielder who was Hetmyer, the RR cricketer made good ground running to his right before hanging on to a one-handed catch.

For a large part of Hetmyer's effort, it looked like that he would lose his balance at some stage as he was on the move while taking the catch but to his credit, he made that catch a lot easier than it was. The video of Hetmyer's superb attempt has been shared by the tournament's official social media handle.

Talking about match number 56 of IPL 2023, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to field first in this game despite batting being the formula for them so far in the competition. Both the sides have 10 points from 11 matches but while KKR are on their way up with back-to-back wins, RR have lost five of their last six matches. They still have a better net run rate and are ranked just above KKR at the fifth place in the points table. Both sides would look to get the two points with two matches after this for each of these two teams in the league stage of the tournament. The team winning this game will get a place in the top four albeit provisionally at the IPL 2023 points table.
