On Thursday, IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders have announced the replacement player for Litton Das as West Indies batter Johnson Charles will be joining the Kolkata-based franchise for the remainder of Indian Premier League 2023.

"Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Thursday named Johnson Charles as a replacement for Litton Das for the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023," an IPL statement said.

Apart from franchise cricket, Charles has played  41 T20Is for West Indies and scored 971 runs. He was also a part of the West Indies squad that won the 2012 and 2016 ICC World Twenty20-winning squads. Overall, he has played 224 T20s and has collected over 5600 runs against his name.

Talking about the KKR team, they are currently standing at the eighth spot in the points table and will be playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday.
