IPL 2023: KKR Name Replacement For Litton Das - SEE Details

On Thursday, IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders have announced the replacement player for Litton Das as West Indies batter Johnson Charles will be joining the Kolkata-based franchise for the remainder of Indian Premier League 2023.
"Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Thursday named Johnson Charles as a replacement for Litton Das for the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023," an IPL statement said.
"Charles - a wicketkeeper-batter - has represented West Indies in 41 T20Is, scoring 971 runs and was a part of West Indies' 2012 and 2016 ICC World Twenty20-winning squads. Additionally, he has played 224 T20s and has over 5600 runs against his name," it further added.
“Litton Das has had to return to Bangladesh earlier today (Friday 28 April) due to an urgent family medical emergency. Our wishes go out to him and his family to make it through this difficult time,” KKR confirmed.
Litton Das has left the KKR camp to attend to one of his family member’s medical condition. He played in only one game in the IPL 2023 after KKR bought him for INR 50 lakh at the auction in December last year.
KKR roped in Johnson Charles for INR 50 Lakh. The West Indies batter made a century in just 39 balls in March South Africa. This is the first time that Charles will feature in the IPL, having played a lot of franchise leagues in the Caribbean, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.
Apart from franchise cricket, Charles has played 41 T20Is for West Indies and scored 971 runs. He was also a part of the West Indies squad that won the 2012 and 2016 ICC World Twenty20-winning squads. Overall, he has played 224 T20s and has collected over 5600 runs against his name.
Talking about the KKR team, they are currently standing at the eighth spot in the points table and will be playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday.
