IPL 2023: Jos Buttler At Fault Of Breaching IPL Code Of Conduct After KKR vs RR Game

As a result, he was fined 10 Percent of his match fee, as per the IPL statement.

Rajasthan Royals’ opening batter Jos Buttler was found at fault for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct after Royals’ 9-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders. As a result, he was fined 10 Percent of his match fee, as per the IPL statement.  However, the reason is still not clear as to why and how he broke the IPL Code of Conduct.

"Mr. Buttler admitted to the Level 1 Offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL's Code of Conduct. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding," the IPL release said.

The England-based batter got run out without scoring after confusion with his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal who was the hero of the game as his innings helped the Royals win the match by nine wickets. Talking about the game, left-hander Jaiswal continued his brilliant run and scored the fastest half-century in the history of the IPL while leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal also scripted history by becoming the all-time leading wicket-taker, helping Rajasthan Royals beat Kolkata Knight Riders by nine wickets on Thursday.

The Haryana-based spinner scalped four wickets and gave away just 25 runs, restricting Knight Riders to a below-average total of 149/8 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. KKR batters kept losing wickets at regular intervals and struggled to time the ball while on the same wicket, Jaiswal reached his fifty in just 13 balls. Unfortunately, the Mumbai-based batter remained short of just two runs of a century as he made 98 runs in just 47 balls and smashed 12 fours and five sixes.  Post this knock, he now sits at the second spot on the list of highest run-getters this season with 575 runs in 12 matches.
