IPL 2022, PBKS vs SRH: Umran Malik Scripts History, Bowls A Triple-Wicket Maiden In Final Over

New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fast-bowling sensation Umran Malik (4 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs) scripted history on Sunday with his remarkable bowling during Hyderabad vs Punjab IPL 2022 match at DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Malik, who came up with a career-best bowling spell in IPL against Punjab, became the only bowler in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL) to bowl a maiden 20th over in the first innings of a match. Apart from him, no other legend has been able to attain this exceptional feat.

Irfan Pathan, Lasith Malinga and Jaydev Unakat are the other three bowlers who hold the record of bowling a maiden 20th over in the IPL, but they had pulled this off in the 20th over of the second innings.

Not only this, Umran even picked a total of four wickets in the 20th over he bowled against Punjab. During the over, three wickets were bagged by Umran Malik, while one wicket fell as a runout, leaving Punjab Kings totally blown away.

Talking about the match, Punjab Kings were invited to bat first after losing the toss. They managed to score 151 runs in 20 overs. PBKS batter Liam Livingstone scored the maximum 60 runs off 33 balls.
