IPL 2021: Here's the list of players who are the most expensive buys in the IPL auction this year

The 14th season of the cash-rich IPL is all set to start from today. The season opener will be played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai. Due to the huge amount of money available to play in it, cricketers from all over the country and around the world compete to be a part of this tournament.

Here's the list of players who are the most expensive buys in the IPL auction this year.

1. Chris Morris: This time, in the auction of IPL 2021, Rajasthan Royals bought South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris for a huge amount of Rs 16.25 crore.  With this, Morris has become the most expensive buy in the history of the league, beating Yuvraj Singh (Rs 16 crore).

2. Kyle Jamison: New Zealand's star bowler Kyle Jamison is placed at number two in this list.  The tall speedster has been bagged by RCB in this year's auction for a huge amount of Rs 15 crore.

3. Glenn Maxwell: In this list of the most expensive players sold in IPL 2021 auction, Australia's middle-order explosive batsman Glenn Maxwell is at number three as the flamboyant all-rounder was acquired by RCB for Rs 14.25 crore.

4. Jhye Richardson: In this list, young Australian fast bowler Jhye Richardson is at fourth place.  Richardson has been included in the Punjab Kings for Rs 14 crore. 

5. Krishnappa Gautam: Off-spin all-rounder Krishnappa Gautam, who plays for Karnataka in domestic cricket, is at number five in this list.  In the IPL 2021 auction, CSK bought him for Rs 9.25 crore.
