In the recent Test series against New Zealand, Team India won the series 1-0. Team India will face a tough challenge to win the series on African soil. A few days ago, the BCCI had announced the Test squad for the tour of South Africa.
Team India under quarantine in Mumbai
Indian players are currently in quarantine before flying to South Africa. According to news agency IANS, all the players were gathered at a hotel in Mumbai on December 12, where they will undergo quarantine. The Indian team will leave for South Africa on December 15 for the Test series. All these players will have to follow the Covid-19 guidelines in South Africa.
When will the Test series be played?
The schedule of the Indian team's tour of South Africa was released recently. According to the schedule, the first match of the three-match Test series between India and South Africa will be played in Centurion from December 26. The second match will be played in Johannesburg from January 3 and the third and final match will be played in Cape Town from January 11.
ODI team to be announced soon
After the Test series, the Indian team will also play a three-match ODI series against South Africa from January 19. The BCCI is likely to announce the ODI team soon. Team India's record on the African soil has not been great. In such a situation, the Indian team will try to win and create history.
