Updated WTC 2023-2025 Points Table: West Indies defeated Bangladesh by 201 runs in the first WI vs BAN Test match of the two-match series at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua on November 26 (Tuesday). With the win, West Indies climbed from ninth to eighth position in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle points table.
Bangladesh, having won the toss and opted to bowl in overcast conditions, failed to capitalize on the favorable conditions. West Indies, on the other hand, were propelled by stellar contribution from the bat of Justin Greaves, who struck his maiden Test century, remaining unbeaten on 115 runs. Mikyle Louis (97) and Alick Athanaze (90) narrowly missed out on their respective centuries but contributed heavily to the hosts’ first-innings score as they declared their innings at an imposing 450/9.

Bangladesh, however, faltered with another batting collapse. Despite half-centuries from Mominul Haque (50) and Jaker Ali (53), they were bowled out for 269/9 before a bold declaration, conceding a 181-run lead to West Indies.
Starting with a 181-run lead, West Indies struggled significantly in their second innings, managing only 152 runs in 46.1 overs but this left the visitors with a challenging target of 334 runs to chase. Bangladesh's batting woes persisted as Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the only batter who showed some fight while the rest of the lineup faltered again. Bangladesh were bowled out for just 132 runs in 38 overs, suffering a crushing 201-run defeat.
West Indies' victory over Bangladesh resulted in a minor change to the WTC points table. Both teams were already out of contention for the finals, but the win allowed West Indies to move up to eighth place, swapping positions with Bangladesh, who dropped to the bottom of the standings.
