WATCH: Rahul slams 23 runs off 5 balls to Pandya; hug each other later

Rahul's knock was so impressive that Pandya couldn't resist himself from congratulating his best buddy after the completion of the innings

Cricketers may be the best buddies off the field but scenarios turn completely upside down during a face-off. Same goes with Indian youngsters KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Be it partying together or getting hit by the Coffee with Karan controversy, they are known for sharing one of the strongest bonds of friendship. But when it comes to representing their respective IPL teams, they show no leniency towards each other. Rahul slammed his maiden IPL century on Wednesday night, notching up the triple figures in just 64 balls. But it was the 19th over, when he went berserk and slammed 23 runs off 5 balls to Pandya. Here’s how it all happened: 18.1: Pandya to Rahul, SIX over extra cover 18.2: Pandya to Rahul, FOUR over extra cover again 18.3: Pandya to Rahul, SIX over fine leg 18.4: Pandya to Rahul, SIX over long-off 18.5: Pandya to Rahul, 1 run in front of point. Rahul's knock was so impressive that Pandya couldn't resist himself from congratulating his best buddy after the completion of the innings. Earlier, Rahul collaborated with Gayle for a 116-run opening wicket partnership to give the away side a blistering start. While Rahul hit six fours and six sixes, Gayle bludgeoned seven maximums and three sixes.
