The bowling all-rounder is the only Australian to feature in the 'XI', as no other player from the nation made a cut. Interestingly, Australia and South Africa will be contesting the Final of the World Test Championship 2025 at Lord's Cricket Ground in London, England, but no player managed to feature in the Test Team of the Year 2024 except Pat Cummins.

England, despite of missing out on the final by a significant margin, manages to dominate the 'XI', as the nation features 4 players, followed by India (3) and New Zealand (2).

Australia and Sri Lanka have one representative each, as 5 nations combined to produced the star-studded 'XI' for Men's Test Team of the Year 2024.

No Virat Kohli, Steve Smith!

Well, let the reality sink in, and cricket fans must accept that there is an end to everything good. Virat Kohli and Steve Smith will go down in the history as one of the finest cricketers to have ever graced the 22 yards.

However, both of them struggled for form past 18 months, but is the latter who rediscovered his purple patch in the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 series, and stands 1 run shy off 10,000 Test runs.

Whereas for Virat Kohli, things turned out from bad to worse, as the Indian legend now faces backlash from not just the experts, but also the fans, as his poor run continues across all formats.

Here's the Men's Test Team of the Year 2024:

  1. Yashasvi Jaiswal (India)
  2. Ben Duckett (England)
  3. Kane Williamson (New Zealand)
  4. Joe Root (England)
  5. Harry Brook (England)
  6. Kamindu Mendis (Sri Lanka)
  7. Jamie Smith (England)
  8. Ravindra Jadeja (India)
  9. Pat Cummins (Australia) (c)
  10. Matt Henry (New Zealand)
  11. Jasprit Bumrah (India)
