Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar Express Condolences Over Arun Jaitley's Demise
Jaitley took his last breathe on Saturday at AIIMS after a prolonged illness. He had been admitted on August 9 after he complained of breathlessness
Indian skipper Virat Kohli expressed his condolences over the saddening demise of former Indian finance minister Arun Jaitely on Saturday.
Kohli, who is currently with the Indian team in Antigua for the Test series, took to his Twitter account and paid tribute to Jaitley. He wrote, “Shocked & saddened to hear about the passing away of Shri Arun Jaitley ji. He was genuinely a good person, always willing to help others. He took out his precious time back in 2006 when my father passed away to come to my home & pay his condolences. May his soul rest in peace.”

The team will be sporting a black armband as a mark of respect for Jaitley when they take the field against West Indies on the third day of the 1st Test. Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar also expressed his condolences and wrote, “Saddened to hear about the demise of Shri Arun Jaitley. He donned several hats successfully, including that of a cricket administrator. India has lost a distinguished parliamentarian. My condolences to his family and friends.” Earlier, the BCCI also condoled the demise of Arun Jaitley describing him as a "remarkable statesman" and an "able and respected" cricket administrator. “A remarkable statesman, Mr Jaitley was a passionate cricket follower and will always be remembered as one of the most able and respected cricket administrators,” BCCI said in a press release. Jaitley took his last breathe on Saturday at AIIMS after a prolonged illness. He had been admitted to the hospital on August 9 after he complained of breathlessness. His condition had steadily deteriorated, and he was put on life support.Shocked & saddened to hear about the passing away of Shri Arun Jaitley ji. He was genuinely a good person, always willing to help others. He took out his precious time back in 2006 when my father passed away to come to my home & pay his condolences.
