'Team Gets Annihilated': Aaron Finch Disagrees With Rohit Sharma's '3-Match' Series Remark
During the WTC final 2023, Kangaroos sealed the title by 209 runs on Sunday by defeating India at the Oval in London.
Australia defeated India by 209 runs on Sunday in the final of WTC 2023 at the Oval in London. They played brilliant cricket throughout the game and ended up winning the title. Post sealing the trophy, former Australia skipper Aaron Finch looked disappointed with the remark of Indfia’s skipper Rohit Sharma. Moments after losing the game, Rohit said that the WTC final should be organized as a three-match series.
“In a big event like this, you need to have fair opportunities for both the teams. You know, a three-match series would be nice, but it’s about finding that window where it can be fit in,” Rohit told reporters
On the contrary, Finch disagrees with Sharma’s comments. “I think it’s just the reality of the scheduling and the time constraints on fixtures at the moment,” he told sen.com.au.
“I’ve got no issues with it, I think if it’s drawn out over three Tests, what happens if a team gets annihilated? It becomes a bit of a waste of time.
“We all play sport for the wins and the losses… I don’t have any issue with it at all.”
During the WTC final 2023, Kangaroos sealed the title by 209 runs on Sunday by defeating India at the Oval in London. Earlier, team India won the toss and invited Australia to bat first where Siraj got a first breakthrough in the overcast conditions as he picked the early wicket of Usman Khawaja.
However, Australia still ended up putting 469 runs on the boards with the help of Travis Head and Steve Smith’s century.
It was Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur who starred with the bat and helped India to reach 296 in the first innings in reply to Australia’s huge total. During the second innings, India tried to pull off a heist but failed miserably as they were restricted to just 234 runs while chasing a total of 444 runs.
