Swapnil gets Dhoni with a juggling caught and bowled

New Delhi: The capacity crowd at the Holkar stadium in Indore was in for a surprise when Dhoni batted against Kings XI Punjab in match 4 of the IPL 10. Not because he brought out a helicopter shot, nor was it because of his big sixes. It was for a juggling caught and bowled that brought an end Dhoni’s innings.

Pune were at 71 for 3, in desperate need of a partnership. Young Swapnil Singh was up against Dhoni, who was not in his own, otherwise how would you describe Dhoni batting at 5 off 10 balls in a T20 match on a pitch which had no demons. 

The left-arm spinner bowled an innocuous delivery on and around off stump, which Dhoni played a little early, giving a simple return catch. Swapnil though, like a true showman juggled the ball thrice before holding on to it to send Dhoni back to the pavilion. 

Dhoni’s expression said it all – whether it was for the juggling catch or for his unusually off-colour day with the bat is only known to him.
