Highly experienced players Hashim Amla, David Miller, Dale Steyn, JP Duminy and Imran Tahir were among the top picks. Cricket South Africa praised all-rounder Duminy, who has played for his squad in two editions of the ICC Cricket World Cup. "Experienced and versatile. @jpduminy21's all-round ability puts the Proteas in good stead, his knowledge, adaptability will solidify the middle-order. Having played 194 ODI's for South Africa he's seen it all and has done it all," CSA said in a tweet.

CSA also admired their exceptionally experienced fast-bowler Dayle Steyn, saying that his experience will be invaluable.
