Indian captain Rohit Sharma returned to Mumbai on Monday after leading his team to a historic win in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. 

He led the front with an excellent half-century helping the Men in Blue clinch their third title with a four-wicket victory over New Zealand in the final at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. 

India bowled first after losing the toss and restricted the Kiwis to 251 for seven in the allotted 50 overs. In the second inning, India completed the chase of 252 with six balls to spare after a partnership of Rohit (76 off 83 balls) and Shreyas Iyer (48 off 62 balls).

Team India Head Coach Gautam Gambhir and cricketer Harshit Rana also returned to the country from Dubai arriving in Delhi. 

Not Retiring From ODI Cricket Soon: Rohit 

On Monday, the Indian skipper said he was non-committal on playing the next big ICC 50-over tournament, in South Africa. "Right now, I am taking things as they come," he said while speaking to 'JioHotstar'. 

 It wouldn't be fair for me to think too far ahead. At this moment, my focus is on playing well and maintaining the right mindset. I don't want to draw any lines and say whether I will or won't play in the 2027 World Cup. There's no point in making such statements right now," Rohit said after the final.

"Realistically, I have always taken my career one step at a time. I don't like thinking too far into the future, and I haven't done so in the past either. For now, I am enjoying my cricket and the time I spend with this team," he said. 

"I hope my teammates enjoy my presence as well. That's all that matters at this point," he added.
