Rohit Sharma Gets Caught Out And Stumped On Same Ball In IND vs ENG 4th Test- WATCH

Rohit Sharna got out stumped and caught on the same ball in a bizarre dismissal in the IND vs ENG 4th Test in Ranchi.

Rohit Sharma scored a fine half-century in the final innings of the fourth Test match against England at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Monday (February 26). With India needing 192 runs to win, the India captain's innings could well be decisive given the manner in which he took the attack to the opposition and ensured that India don't feel any pressure at all in the run-chase. Rohit's 81-ball stay saw him score five boundaries and a six as he scored 55.

However, the senior India opener got out in a bizarre manner. While he came down the track to a Tom Hartley delivery and seemed to have missed the ball altogether and was stumped by wicketkeeper Ben Foakes and the broadcasters too initially showed the wicket as stumped, it was later confirmed that Rohit had even edged the ball. In the International Cricket Council's (ICC) official scorecard, the dismissal was changed from stumped to caught.

Take a look at Rohit's bizarre dismissal here:

India Closing In On Victory in Ranchi

Meanwhile, India are closing in on a fine victory in Ranchi, a win that will help them take them clinch the series with a match to. Needing 192, their openers had put on 84 for the first wicket. After that even though the team lost wickets, they look like they would be able to reach their target and complete a win inside four days despite losing the toss and batting last.

Despite India conceding a lead in the first innings, their victory was set up by their bowling performance in the second innings with their spinners taking all the 10 wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin scalped a fifer while Kuldeep Yadav returned with a four-wicket haul. Ravindra Jadeja got the remaining wicket as India bowled England out for 145 in the second innings.
