Rahul Dravid’s Son Samit Selected To Play Vinoo Mankad Trophy For Karnataka
Former India player Rahul Dravid also played age groups tournaments for his state such as U-15, U-17, and U-19 levels before making his Ranji debut back in the 1991/92 season.
Samit Dravid who is the son of India's head coach Rahul Dravid has been included in Karnataka’s 15-player squad for the 2023 Vinoo Mankad Trophy. The U-19 tournament will be hosted by Hyderabad and will be taking place from October 12 to 20. Samit who is 18 years old had already played for Karnataka in U14 tournaments but then he is ready to test his skills for the first time in U-19 cricket. Dravid’s younger son, Anvay is also a professional cricketer and leads the U14 cricket team for the state.

However, it will be difficult for Dravid to watch his elder son play in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, owing to the tournament clashing with the 2023 ODI World Cup, which is set to take place from October 5.
Rahul Dravid’s team is currently taking part in a three-game-ODI series against Australia. KL Rahul who is leading the side has defeated Australia in the first ODI by five wickets in Mohali and has taken a 1-0 lead in the series. Playing for India, Dravid senior made 10,768 runs from 340 ODIs at an average of 39.15 and he is the fourth among Indian ODI run scorers. He is standing behind Sourav Ganguly, Virat Kohli, and Sachin Tendulkar.
The Men in Blue are now locking horns with Australia in the second ODI which is undergoing in Indore. Opener batter Shubman Gill and middle order batter Shreyas Iyer smashed their respective half-centuries. They are eyeing a big total here against the Kangaroos.
