Sri Lankan left-arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama has been handed a one-year ban from all forms of cricket by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for breaching its Anti-Corruption Code. Jayawickrama admitted to breaching Article 2.4.7 of the Code and subsequently has been given a six-month suspension off his ban.

While ICC did not specify the exact incident that led to the 26-year-old’s ban, the body confirms that violations took place during international matches and the Lanka Premier League.

Jayawickrama Found Guilty For Obstructing ICC Anti-Corruption Investigations

The ICC charged Praveen Jayawickrama with two violations of its Anti-Corruption Code in August and he has admitted to breaching Article 2.4.7, which pertains to obstructing or delaying investigations by ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), including actions like concealing or destroying relevant documentation and evidence.
