IND vs AUS, 1st ODI: Warner-Finch Tons Guide Australia To Thumping 10-wicket Win

Openers David Warner and Aaron Finch registered breezy tons to guide Australia to 10 wicket win over India in ODI series opener at Mumbai

Australia clinched a thumping 10 wickets win over India in the first ODI at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. The Aussies win came at the back of a belligerent centuries from opener David Warner and Aaron Finch. The Australian opening duo of Warner Finch registered their highest opening stand against India and coasted away to the target in 37.4 overs. Both Finch and Warner were severe on the Indian bowlers hitting them to all parts of the park and getting to their respective tons. Warner also brought up his 5000 runs in ODI cricket, becoming the fastest Australian to reach the landmark. Earlier in the day India were bowled out for a below par 255 runs courtesy a disciplined bowling performance by their bowling attack. Left arm seamer Mitchell Starc was the most menacing of the Australian bowlers picking up three wickets, while Pat Cummins and Kane Richardson picked up two wickets each. In a dismal batting performance, opener Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul were the only bright spots in the Indian effort with the willow. There was some late flourish by Ravindra Jadeja and but it was rather too late as the damage had been done upfront by the Australian bowlers.
