After Rohit-Rayudu magic, Khaleel's 3-for powers India to 224-run victory

Amid the horrible batting collapse, skipper Jason Holder showed some patience towards the end and brought up his 7th ODI fifty

Rohit Sharma’s record-breaking 162 and Ambati Rayudu’s 3^rd ODI ton turned the 4^th ODI into the biggest nightmare for West Indies on Monday. Registering their 3rd-biggest victory in ODI, India hammered the Caribbean guests by 224 runs to lead the 5-match series 2-1. The fifth and the final ODI will be played on Thursday in Thiruvananthapuram.

An under-pressure West Indies were expected to stay positive against the Indian bowling attack during the 378-run chase. But it seemed that the Indians had their day. Despite a steady start, openers Chadrapaul Hemraj and Kieran Powell failed to spend much time at the crease.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar drew the first blood in the fifth over and removed Hemraj on 14. The men-in-blue started celebrating their success but for the West Indies, their journey to their another massive defeat in ODI just began.

Without adding anymore run to the scoreboard, the guests lost two wickets in the form of Shai Hope (0) and Kieran Powell (14), that too, in an interval of 6 balls. Both the in-form batsmen were run out and disappointment was all around in the Windies dressing room.

Shimron Hetmyer, who troubled India in the first two ODIs, was the next batsman and joined veteran Marlon Samuels at the crease. As soon as they stitched a 25-run partnership for the 4^th wicket, young Indian speedster Khaleel Ahmed unveiled his most lethal form.

Brought into the attack in the 9^th over, Khaleel went on to strike thrice in his first three overs and deeply jolted the West Indies middle order. First, he hunted down Hetmyer (13) in his first over and then simultaneously dismissed Rovman Powell (1) and Marlon Samuels (18), reducing them to 56/6 in just the 14^th over.

After Khaleel, Kuldeep Yadav spun a web to gulp big hitters like Fabian Allen (10), Ashley Nurse (8) and Kemar Roach (6) while Jadeja picked up his first in the 28th over and sent back Keemo Paul packing on 19.

Amid this horrible batting collapse, skipper Jason Holder showed some patience towards the end but there was no one else to provide him that support to at least finish the game without being bowled out. He remained the highest run scorer form his team, bringing up his 7th ODI half-century.
