Team India management might decide to rest Rishabh Pant for IND vs BAN three-match T20Is as part of a workload management strategy.

India and Bangladesh are competing in a two-Test match IND vs BAN Test series, with India winning the first Test in Chennai by huge margin of 280 runs. IND vs BAN 2nd Test is scheduled to take place in Kanpur on September 27 (Friday), and both teams have already arrived in the city.

After IND vs BAN 2nd Test, Team India will square off against Bangladesh in IND vs BAN T20I series. However, reports suggest that keeper-batter Rishabh Pant might miss the T20I series against Bangladesh.

According to PTI report, team India management might decide to rest Rishabh Pant for IND vs BAN three-match T20Is as part of a workload management strategy.

Following the second Test against Bangladesh, India will face Bangladesh in three T20Is. After these matches, Rohit Sharma-led India will compete in three Tests against New Zealand and five Tests in Australia.

To ensure Rishabh Pant is fully fit for these important series, he may be rested for the T20I matches against Bangladesh.

Players who could replace Rishabh Pant in India squad for IND vs BAN T20Is

Following Rishabh Pant's anticipated rest, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to offer wicketkeeping opportunities to Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan for IND vs BAN T20I series.

Samson has been part of the Indian squad for 2024 T20 World Cup, T20 series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. His experience in the format positions him as a strong candidate for inclusion in India's T20 squad against Bangladesh

There were also reports suggesting that Ishan Kishan, who has been out of Indian team for an extended period, could return following impressive performances in the Buchi Babu Tournament and the Duleep Trophy. However, with Ishan Kishan's inclusion in the Irani Cup tournament, he is likely to miss at least the first T20I against Bangladesh, if not all of the matches, even if he is selected for the squad.
