India vs Bangladesh 1st Test Probable Playing 11: Rohit Sharma & Co. are likely to go ahead with a spin trio for the series opener in Chennai.

India vs Bangladesh 1st Test Probable Playing 11: The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai is all set to host the 1st Test match of the India vs Bangladesh series. The bilateral affair will mark the return of India in the international cricket circuit after a month-long break. With Team India eyeing their third successive World Test Championship (WTC) final, the home series against Bangladesh becomes crucial.

On the other hand, India's opponents in the series- the Bangla Tigers are fresh of a historic Test series win over Pakistan. Bangladesh had never Pakistan in a Test match before the tour but managed to register the result not once but twice to register a comprehensive clean sweep in Rawalpindi. In the second Test match, the touring side looked down and out at one stage but led by a sensational hundred from Litton Das, they came back to stun Pakistan yet again to win the series.

If that is anything to go by, Bangladesh can give India a tough time. Although India will start as the overwhelming favourites in this series, given their impeccable record at home in Test matches. With the IND vs BAN 1st Test match set to commence in 2 days time, all ayes are on Team India's Probable Playing 11.

Axar Patel Unlikely In India's Playing 11 In Chennai

A PTI report has claimed that Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav will all be in action in the series opener. Jasprit Bumrah, who hasn't played a match since the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 final, will spearhead the pace attack with Mohammed Siraj for company. The report suggests that even though Axar Patel has been in form across formats formats, he may have to wait for his turn and warm the benches at lest in Chennai.

Meanwhile, India's wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is all set to make a Test cricket comeback ever since his near-fatal car crash in December 2022. Pant will get the nod ahead of Dhruv Jurel. Yashasvi Jaiswal is likely to open the batting with Rohit Sharma with Shubman Gill in at 3 followed by Virat Kohli who is also marking a return to Test cricket, having missed the entire five-match home series against England.
