IND Vs PAK Final? India Can Meet Pakistan Again In Champions Trophy 2025 — The Maths Explained

IND vs PAK, Champions Trophy 2025: Here's how India and Pakistan can meet again after the Dubai clash in the ICC event.

IND vs PAK, Champions Trophy 2025: The IND vs PAK rivalry is cricket’s most intense, fueled by the two nations’ history and political tensions. Any clash between India and Pakistan attracts immense global viewership and the Champions Trophy 2025 encounter was no different, drawing a massive crowd at the venue and achieving significant viewership figures. While India clinched a six-wicket win over the arch-rivals, Pakistan’s chances of progressing in the tournament took a massive dip. However, there remains a very slim possibility that both teams could face each other again in the tournament.

India secured a remarkable victory over Pakistan in the fifth match of the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai on February 23 (Sunday), powered by Virat Kohli’s stunning 51st ODI century following a dominant display by the Indian bowlers. While the win virtually secured India’s spot in the Champions Trophy semifinals, it also ensured that Pakistan’s life became difficult in the ICC event as they are now positioned last in the Group A points table. However, Pakistan still has a mathematical chance of reaching the semifinals despite suffering two losses in the tournament.

Can IND vs PAK Match Happen Again In Champions Trophy 2025?

Pakistan sit at the bottom of Group A with two losses and a poor net run rate (NRR) of -1.087. To keep their semifinal hopes alive, they must beat Bangladesh and then rely on New Zealand losing both their remaining games. If that happens, Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh all will finish with 2 points and the qualification will come down to NRR, which makes it necessary for Pakistan to register a big win over Bangladesh.

If Pakistan manage to qualify for the semifinals, they will need both themselves and India to win their respective semifinal matches for fans to witness another IND vs PAK showdown—this time in the Champions Trophy 2025 final.
