IND vs ENG: KL Rahul Scores Century, Matches Sachin Tendulkar's Lord's Feat

In the ongoing third Test between India and England, KL Rahul once again showcased his class with a stunning century.

After his impressive ton in the first Test, Rahul followed it up with another in the third Test, leaving fans and experts in awe of his form and consistency. His composed and confident knock lit up Day 3 at Lord’s, as he anchored the Indian innings with authority.

KL Rahul Delivers Another Masterclass

Rahul played a determined innings of 100 runs off 177 balls, displaying excellent shot selection and control.

His knock included 13 stylish boundaries. His innings came to an end in the 67.1st over, when he was dismissed by Shoaib Bashir. This century marks Rahul’s second ton in the ongoing Test series, underlining his growing dominance in red-ball cricket.

Notably, this is his second century at Lord’s, making him the first Indian opener to achieve the feat at the iconic ground. Rahul’s strokeplay was all-round, as he confidently played shots all around the wicket, frustrating the English bowlers.

Rahul Joins an Elite Club

With this knock, KL Rahul has now equalled Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most centuries by an Indian batter in England. Both now have 4 Test centuries on English soil. Only Rahul Dravid stands ahead of them, with a record 6 Test tons in England.

Rahul’s current form in overseas conditions is a massive boost for Team India, and his growing list of achievements continues to place him among the top performers in the modern game.

India Under Pressure After Losing Two Set Batters at Lord’s

Team India (272/5 after 74.4 overs) after slipped into a spot of bother after losing two crucial wickets in quick succession during the third Test against England at Lord's, London. Rishabh Pant was run out just before Lunch, and soon after the break, KL Rahul was dismissed, halting India's momentum.

Pant, who had shown great resilience despite a finger injury, fell for a well-made 74. His dismissal came at a crucial juncture, right on the stroke of the session break. Resuming the innings post-lunch, India suffered another blow when KL Rahul, fresh from reaching his 10th Test century, was dismissed shortly after reaching the landmark.

On the bowling front, England shared the spoils evenly. Chris Woakes, Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, and Shoaib Bashir all picked up a wicket each, ensuring that India’s middle-order remained under pressure.

As the day progresses, India will look to stabilize the innings.
