Since 2019, Ravichandran Ashwin has taken 180 wickets in 36 matches in the World Test Championship (WTC), making him the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. Australia's Nathan Lyon tops the list with 187 wickets in 43 matches. Ashwin now has a chance to overtake Lyon and claim the top spot by taking just 8 more wickets.

2. Ravichandran Ashwin can surpass Chaminda Vaas

In the Chennai Test, Ravichandran Ashwin bagged 6 wickets, reaching a milestone of 750 international wickets. He is now closing in on surpassing former Sri Lankan pacer Chaminda Vaas, who has 761 international wickets. Ashwin needs just 12 more wickets to overtake Vaas and add another record to his name.

R Ashwin is currently ranked 12th on the list of bowlers with the most wickets in international cricket. Just ahead of him at 11th is Sri Lanka's Chaminda Vaas with 761 wickets, while New Zealand's Tim Southee holds the 10th spot with 766 wickets. At the top of this elite list is Muttiah Muralitharan, with an unmatched 1,347 wickets. Ashwin is now within striking distance of breaking into the top 10.

3. Seventh most successful bowler in Test cricket
