Background

Hello and Welcome to ABP's live coverage of the match between India and Australia. After dominating day 1 of the fourth Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, day 2 was also owned by Kangaroos. They started their proceedings against Indian bowlers where they left on day 1. Both Usman Khwaja and Cameron Green unleashed fire as Khwaja scored 180 before walking back to the pavilion while Green also notched up his first Test century.

But then Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel came up with a breakthrough as the two sent Khwaja and Green to the pavilion. They broke the 208-run stand between Khawaja and Green.  Ashwin then scalped the wicket of Mitchell Starc.

Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy also stitched a 70-run partnership for the ninth wicket, taking their team total to a huge 480 runs before Ashwin removed them and ended the innings with a six-wicket haul for 91 runs.

The Indian team in reply started the proceedings with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill who are batting at 17 and 18 runs respectively. The scorecard stands at India 36/0 as they trail by 444 runs. Gill looked good as he smashed the first six of the match and made it clear that the hosts will not give up easily.
