AUS vs IND: What Went Down The Last Time India Faced Australia At Perth

IND vs AUS 1st Test is scheduled to take place at Perth's Optus Stadium. The last time India played Australia in a Test at Perth was on December 14, 2018.

India's Test Record At Perth: The much-anticipated five-match Test series between India and Australia begins on November 22 with IND vs AUS 1st Test at Perth. Over the past year, no other ground in Australia has shown fast and bouncy nature of country's pitches like the WACA Ground in Perth.

Despite some memorable individual performances, the Indian cricket team has a poor record at this venue. India has played four Tests at the WACA, winning just once, and lost their only match at the newly-built Optus Stadium in Perth.

IND vs AUS 1st Test is scheduled to take place at Perth's Optus Stadium. Under Rohit Sharma's leadership and with a squad full of young talent, the Indian cricket team has the opportunity to rewrite record books. The last time India played Australia in a Test at Perth was on December 14, 2018.

In the 2018/19 season, Australia moved to the new Optus Stadium in Perth, which offered improved playing conditions and facilities. At the time, a confident Virat Kohli-led India had just defeated Australia by 31 runs in the first Test. The second Test of the series, held at Optus Stadium in December 2018, was the first ever Test match at this new venue.

Australia defeated India by 146 runs in the second Test at Optus Stadium. Australia batted first, scoring 326 runs. In reply, India was dismissed for 283, with Nathan Lyon delivering a standout performance, taking five wickets for 67 runs and earning the Player of the Match award.

Virat Kohli played a brilliant knock, scoring an unbeaten 123 runs in India's first innings. In Australia's second innings, Mohammed Shami took six wickets for 56 runs, bowling the hosts out for 243.

India, however, failed to chase down the target of 287 and lost the match by 146 runs. This was the only Test India lost on the tour, as they went on to win the series 2-1, claiming their first-ever Test series win in Australia.
