IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Series 2024-25 Schedule Announced, Perth To Host 1st Test From Nov 22

Border-Gavaskar Series 2024-25 Schedule: India will travel to Australia for a five-match Test series beginning in November and ending in the New Year.

The complete schedule for the Border-Gavaskar Series 2024-25 was announced by Cricket Australia (CA) on March 26 (Tuesday). Ending all speculation, it has now been confirmed that Perth will host the India vs Australia 1st Test beginning on November 22. The second Test of the five-match series will be a day-night affair and will be played at the Adelaide Oval starting on December 6 before Australia host India in Gabba for the third Test commencing on December 14.

The fourth and the final Test match of the India-Australia series will be played in Melbourne and Sydney respectively with MCG set to be the venue for the traditional Boxing Day Test and Sydney hosting the New Year's Test scheduled to commence on January 3.

India Current Holders Of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024

Notably, India are the current holders of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, having last won the series in 2014-15. Since then in each of the four series, which includes two in Australia, it is India who have come out on top. The most recent series took place in India where Rohit Sharma-led team played four Test matches against the Aussies and ended up emerging victorious 2-1 with a solitary Test ending in a draw.

Despite India's dominance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in recent years, when it was time for the World Test Championship (WTC) final at the Oval in London, it was the Aussies who ended up winning that contest, beating India by 209 runs to extend their wait for an ICC title. Australia then even went on to beat India in the ODI World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad to add salt to India's wounds.
