India Current Holders Of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024
Notably, India are the current holders of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, having last won the series in 2014-15. Since then in each of the four series, which includes two in Australia, it is India who have come out on top. The most recent series took place in India where Rohit Sharma-led team played four Test matches against the Aussies and ended up emerging victorious 2-1 with a solitary Test ending in a draw.
Despite India's dominance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in recent years, when it was time for the World Test Championship (WTC) final at the Oval in London, it was the Aussies who ended up winning that contest, beating India by 209 runs to extend their wait for an ICC title. Australia then even went on to beat India in the ODI World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad to add salt to India's wounds.
