The Karnataka-based batter will start his rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru under the supervision of BCCI doctors and physios.

India’s batter KL Rahul had successful surgery of his thigh and has started his recovery process. On Tuesday, the right-hand batter took to his Twitter handle and updated on his health, saying thanks to all the medical staff and doctors.

"Hi everyone, I just got done with my surgery - it was successful. A big thank you to the doctors and medical staff for making sure I was comfortable and everything went smoothly. I'm officially on the road to recovery now. I'm determined to get back to my best and get back on the field. Onwards and upwards!" KL Rahul wrote in his post.

Earlier, the Indian team suffered a huge blow when KL Rahul declared that he was not fit and would be undergoing surgery in his right thigh after he got injured while fielding in the IPL 2023 game between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The LSG skipper sustained the injury game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1. He was sprinting to stop the ball in the second over of the game and that is when he got injured.

The Lucknow-based franchise named Krunal Pandya as the new skipper since Rahul was injured. KL was a part of the Indian squad that is set to play the WTC final against Australia beginning on June 7 at The Oval but then BCCI came up with a replacement by calling Ishan Kishan to fill the void left by Kl Rahul. The BCCI has also included Suryakumar Yadav, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Mukesh Kumar as the official standby players for the Indian team that will be participating in the WTC final scheduled at Kennington Oval.
