The Wisden Trophy is up for the taking as hosts England lock horns with West Indies in the third and final Test of the 3-match series at the Emirates Old Trafford Ground in Manchester. The Test match is scheduled to get underway at 3:30 pm (IST) with the toss taking place at 3 pm (IST).
With the series drawn level at 1-1, both teams will try to put forth in their top game forward on the green turf at Manchester with an aim to win the #raisethebat series.
West Indies are the current holders of the Wisden Trophy after they beat England by a margin of 2-1 in the last Test series played out between the two sides in the Caribbean.
England made a resounding comeback in the second Test at Old Trafford with an emphatic 113-run win after losing the series opener at Southampton to West Indies by 4 wickets. The chief architect of England's win was their premier all-rounder Ben Stokes who notched up 176 and 78* in his two outings with the bat and picked up three wickets with the ball. Meanwhile seamer Stuart Broad who was overlooked for the first test made a comeback into the team scalping six wickets to contribute to the team's win.
West Indies had taken a 1-0 lead in the series after winning the opening Test of the 3-Test series played at the Aegeas Oval in Hampshire.The series opener also marked the resumption of international cricket after a long hiatus of over 100 days due to the covid-19 pandemic.
