David Warner's 'Pushpa' Celebration After Equalling Sachin Tendulkar's World Cup Century Record Goes Viral

World Cup 2023: Glenn Maxwell and David Warner scored centuries in Australia's record win over Netherlands. Warner celebrated the hundred with a 'Pushpa' celebration.

Australian opener David Warner achieved a remarkable milestone when he notched his 22nd ODI century during Australia's clash against the Netherlands in the ICC Men's World Cup 2023 at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium. Warner continued his exceptional form by securing his second consecutive century in the ongoing tournament. To celebrate this memorable achievement, the left-hander batter added his unique touch by performing a step popularised in a song of an Indian movie titled 'Pushpa: The Rise' featuring Allu Arjun.

After completing his century, Warner, known for his fondness for Indian films and music, delighted the crowd with his special celebration. He did his signature jump before mimicking the iconic 'Pushpa' dance step, a gesture he has frequently displayed on the field and in videos on his social media. Warner made his way back to the dressing room after scoring 104 runs, a composed innings featuring 11 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 111.83.

A video of Warner showcasing the 'Pushpa' dance step has been circulating on various social media platforms.

Meanwhile, Warner joined the elite company of Sachin Tendulkar in the list of most centuries scored in ODI World Cup history. This marked Warner's sixth century in the 50-over tournament, equalling the legendary Indian batsman. He has now surpassed the century tally of retired cricketers like Ricky Ponting and Sri Lankan great Kumar Sangakkara, both of whom have five World Cup centuries to their credit.
