Big Bash League: David Warner made a grand entry at the SCG before the Sydney derby in BBL.
Fresh from featuring in a Test farewell series, star Australian batter David Warner made a Hollywood-style grand entrance at the Syndey Cricket Ground (SCG) for the Sydney derby in the Big Bash League (BBL) on Friday (January 12). Notably, the 37-year-old cricketer arrrived at the venue straight after attending his brother's wedding in the Hunter region earlier in the day. Warner is plying his trade for Sydney Thunder in the cash-rich league who are locking against Sydney Sixers.

Josh Philippe Top-Scores As Sixers Beat Thunder By 19 Runs
Meanwhile, Josh Phillipe top-scored in Sydney Sixers innings. Riding on Phillipe's 47 off 35 and Jordan Silk's 35 off 29 took Sydney Sixers to 151/7. Nathan McAndrew and Tanveer Sangha were the pick of the bowlers for Thunder who scalped two wickets apiece. However, Warner, who made a grand entry at the stadium, could not taste a win at SCG.

He top scored with 37 for Thunder but took 39 deliveries and with little or no support from the rest of the batters and the team could not cross the winning line, getting all out for 132 in 19.5 overs. Steve O'Keefe was the pick of the bowlers for the Sixers as he scalped 3 wickets for 13 runs in his 4 overs. Sean Abbott picked 2 wickets for 45 runs, Hayden Kerr and Ben Dwarshuis were the other wicket-takers for the winning team.
