Three Bowlers India Will Rely On In IND vs ENG Test Series

With a well-balanced attack and a world-class leader in Bumrah, India’s pace unit has the firepower to swing the series in their favor.

The five-match Test series between India and England is set to kick off at Headingley on June 20. Team India will be heavily reliant on its pace attack, especially Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna, to deliver impactful performances in the swinging English conditions.

Prasidh Krishna – The Emerging Threat

Though relatively new to the Test arena, Prasidh Krishna has shown promise with 8 wickets from 3 Tests. With his ability to generate steep bounce and swing, Krishna could prove to be a valuable asset in English conditions, potentially forming a formidable pace trio alongside Bumrah and Siraj.

Jasprit Bumrah – India’s Spearhead

Jasprit Bumrah, currently ranked as the world’s No. 1 Test bowler, remains India’s biggest asset in the bowling department. The 31-year-old has claimed 205 wickets in 45 Tests at an average of 19.40, with an economy rate of just 2.76. He has taken five-wicket hauls on 13 occasions. In his previous outing in England, Bumrah picked up 23 wickets and will be looking to lead from the front once again.

Mohammed Siraj – Consistent and Reliable

Mohammed Siraj made an impression during India’s 2021–22 tour of England, taking 17 wickets. In 36 Tests, he has notched up 100 wickets at an average of 29.20, including three five-wicket hauls. Known for his discipline and relentless energy, Siraj will play a key role in maintaining control and creating pressure through sustained spells.
