Babar Azam's 'Wrongly Worded' Tribute Post For England Legend James Anderson Goes Viral

Babar Azam's 'wrongly worded' tribute post for James Anderson quickly went viral on social media. The Pakistan skipper edited the post later, but by then, the damage was already done.

In a tribute post for England legend James Anderson, Babar Azam mistakenly used incorrect English, referring to Anderson's bowling as "cutter" instead of "swing". The post quickly went viral on social media. Azam edited the post later, but by then, the damage was already done.

"It was a privilege to face your cutters, Jimmy! The beautiful game will now miss one of its greatest. Your incredible service to the sport has been nothing short of remarkable. Huge respect for you, GOAT," Babar initially wrote in his tribute post for England's James Anderson, who played his final Test on Friday.

James Anderson's final Test

England secured a thumping win over West Indies by an innings and 114 runs in the 1st Test at Lord's Stadium, taking a 1-0 lead in ENG vs WI Test series. This match also marked the final international appearance for England's legendary pacer James Anderson.

In his farewell Test, Anderson contributed with four wickets across both innings. The veteran bowler concludes his illustrious career as one of cricket's greatest fast bowlers.

Anderson, the only pacer with over 700 Test wickets, entered his final Test match with expectations of surpassing Australia's legendary spinner Shane Warne's record of 708 wickets. However, he could only manage to take 4 wickets in the match.

As a result, he remains the third-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket history, behind Muttiah Muralitharan (800) and Shane Warne (708 wickets).
