Babar Azam Fails Again – Shocking Stats From His Last 25 ODI Innings

Babar Azam's form has been a cause for concern, as he hasn't scored a century in his last 25 ODI innings.

Pakistan's star batter Babar Azam continues to struggle, failing yet again in the second ODI against New Zealand. The 30-year-old was dismissed for just one run, extending his poor run of form. Worryingly, he has now gone 25 ODI innings without a century, raising concerns over his consistency.

Another failure for Babar Azam

In the second ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand in Hamilton, Babar's stay at the crease was short-lived. Facing just three balls, he managed only a single run before being dismissed by Jacob Duffy. Attempting a shot towards the off-side, he edged the ball to Henry Nicholls at second slip, who took a comfortable catch.

25 innings without a century

Babar's form has been a cause for concern, as he hasn't scored a century in his last 25 ODI innings. His highest score in this period is 78, which came in the first ODI against New Zealand. His last century came in the 2023 Asia Cup, where he smashed 151 off 131 balls against Nepal.

Pakistan lose ODI series 2-0 vs NZ

New Zealand, batting first after losing the toss, put up a competitive total of 292/8, with Mitchell Hay playing a stellar 99-run knock. In reply, Pakistan crumbled under pressure, losing the second ODI 84 runs.

With back-to-back wins, New Zealand have won the three-match PAK vs NZ ODI series 2-0. The teams will face off in the third ODI on Saturday.

New Zealand set a target of 293 runs after posting 292/8 in 50 overs, led by Mitchell Hay's impressive 99-run knock, falling just one run short of his maiden ODI century.

In reply, Pakistan struggled with the bat and were bowled out for 208 in 41.2 overs, losing by 84 runs. Faheem Ashraf played a fighting knock of 73, while Naseem Shah, coming in at No. 10, impressed with a 51-run cameo off 44 balls, hitting four fours and four sixes. Their late resistance helped Pakistan cross 200 but couldn't prevent another defeat.
