AUS VS SCO: THIS World Record Holder Makes T20I Debut For Scotland Vs Australia

Scotland Vs Australia: Scotland are hosting Australia for the three-match T20I series, and the first T20I has started on Wednesday, as Australia have decided to bowl first. Upin announcing the playing XI's, both the sides are featuring their respective set of debutants, and one of them is Charlie Cassell for Scotland, who has a world record to his name.

The Scotland fast bowler currently holds the record for registering best-ever figures on ODI debut, and he achieved the feat against Oman on July 22, 2024 in the ICC CWC League 2 2023-27. The 29-year-old registered the figures of 7/21 in 5.4 overs with one maiden over and with that, he broke the previous record of 6/16 in 8 overs with three maiden overs, registered by Kagiso Rabada against Bangladesh in Mirpur on July 10, 2015.

Speaking on the debutants, Scotland captain Richard Berrington stated that the whole side is pretty much excited, as the nation play their first-ever bilateral series against the Mighty Australians.

"It's an exciting week for everyone involved in the Scotland Cricket. A great opportunity to take us on the best in the world. We have got Charlie Cassell and Jasped Dravidson making their T20I debuts. Really, excited to see how they go about for us at the top level," said Berrington during the toss.

For Australia, young sensation Jake Fraser-McGurk is making his T20I debut, after having a memorable 2024, which included him capping his ODI debut alongside making a huge name for himself in the Indian Premier League for Delhi Capitals.

"We got Jake Fraser-McGurk making his debut. He has had a great last 12 months. He is a brilliant young talent," said Mitchell Marsh, Australia Captain, after winning the toss.
