When Does Ramadan Begin?

The month of Ramadan holds a special place among all months. The beginning of this sacred month depends on the sighting of the moon. The first fast is announced only after the moon is seen. This year, the holy month of Ramadan, according to the Islamic calendar, will begin on March 2, 2025.

When Will The First Roza Be Observed In India?

The Ramadan moon is first sighted in Saudi Arabia before appearing in India. In Saudi Arabia, the first moon was seen on the evening of Friday, February 28. Hence, fasting begins there on Saturday, March 1. In India, the first Roza will be observed on March 2, 2025.

When Is Eid In 2025?

The month of Ramadan lasts for 29 or 30 days, during which the Muslim community observes fasting and offers prayers to Allah. Ramadan ends with Eid-ul-Fitr, which will be celebrated on March 30 or 31 this year.

Significance Of Ramadan

By observing fasting, Muslims express their devotion and dedication to Allah. Good deeds in this month are rewarded manifold, encouraging more worship and righteous actions. Fasters must follow all Ramadan rules and ensure timely Suhoor and Iftar each day to receive its full spiritual benefits.

Keep These Guidelines In Mind

  • Fasting is not just about staying hungry and thirsty. Fasters should neither think ill of anyone nor speak harshly, and they should avoid seeing anything inappropriate.
  • According to Islamic teachings, defaming others, backbiting, lying, taking false oaths, and being greedy during Ramadan are considered sinful. These actions deprive the fast of its spiritual rewards.
  • Fasters are advised to refrain from physical intimacy during the sacred month of Ramadan.
  • Offer prayers five times a day and recite the Quran regularly.
