Where Is Lord Parshuram's Axe?

About 150 kilometers away from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, in the Gumla district, there is a hill where Tanginath Dham is located. It is claimed that Lord Parshuram's axe is kept in a temple here. It is said that Lord Parshuram himself buried the axe here.

What Is The Mystery Behind It?

This axe is exposed to the open sky, yet it is said that it has never rusted. Despite several attempts to uproot it, all have failed. It remains a mystery how it has stayed intact after thousands of years.

How Did The Axe Arrive Here?

When Lord Ram broke Lord Shiva’s bow, Lord Parshuram became very enraged. He spoke harshly in his anger, but once he realised his mistake, he felt deeply ashamed. To atone for his actions, he went to a mountain deep in the forests and buried his axe there, beginning his penance. It is claimed that Tanganath Dham is the very place where this event took place.

Who Gave Parshuram Ji His Axe?

Lord Shiva gifted him many divine weapons, one of which was the invincible axe called 'Parshu'. With this axe, Parshuram Ji killed 36 Haryanvi Kshatriya kings to destroy adharma.
