Recently we had a first look of the new MG Hector and this SUV gets quite a lot of updates including a styling change and more features. The Rs 10-25 lakh SUV space has seen a lot of competition recently and the Hector too, gets a big change. Cosmetically, the huge new grille is a major talking point which stretches towards the entire front of the car. A closer look reveals that there is a new pattern to the grille as well along with the chrome surrounds. The huge grille is a talking point and divides opinion for sure while in darker colours, it looks good. (Image Credit: Somanth Chatterjee)

The interior is the major change with a massive new 14-inch portrait HD touchscreen and a redesigned cabin. That said, all eyes are on the touchscreen and it is huge but looks fantastic with the display. Compared to the previous Hector, both the touch response and the quality was really good though the touchscreen felt a bit laggy at some times. (Image Credit: Somanth Chatterjee)

That said, the way the graphics or the icons have been arranged, it is top-notch. The same goes for the 360 degree camera which is a much higher quality display over the earlier Hector. There is of course connected car tech, inbuilt apps, a digital key, ambient lighting, 4-way powered drivers seat, panoramic sunroof with touchscreen controls and 75 connected features. There are ADAS Level 2 features too and that is crucial since it would one of the most accessible SUVs with ADAS available in India. The rear seats have terrific space and the huge comfort levels are a bonus too while there is a flat floor which makes three passengers an easy fit. (Image Credit: Somanth Chatterjee)

There is no change on the engines front while overall, the Hector comes across as a much more desirable SUV with its increased feature list and quality levels. For its expected price, this is really good value for money with the new interior elevating itself amongst its rivals. (Image Credit: Somanth Chatterjee)
