2 Dead, 3 Injured In Workplace Shooting In US, Suspect Held

According to Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer, the shooting took place at Delaware County Linen on Wednesday morning.

At least two people were killed and three others were injured in what, according to officials, was a workplace shooting in Chester, Pennsylvania, in the United States, west of Philadelphia, as reported by CNN. The injured were shifted to a hospital following the incident.

Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer said that the shooting took place at Delaware County Linen on Wednesday morning. Speaking about the incident at a news conference, Stollsteimer said the suspect arrived at the workplace with a firearm and “took out his anger” on fellow employees.

According to CNN, a suspect was arrested in the nearby city of Trainer, Chester Police Commissioner Steven Gretsky said. 

Chester Mayor Stefan Roots said that the suspect is a “disgruntled employee, a current employee,” of the business. “It speaks to guns in America."  “It’s heartbreaking, it’s tragic, it has to stop,” he said, as quoted by CNN.

According to Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer, the shooter fled in a vehicle but was soon captured at a traffic stop, as reported by news agency AP. The name of the shooter has not been released, and the motive behind the shooting remains unknown. Earlier statements said he was a former employee.
