Quad Summit 2022 | Leaders Discuss Russia-Ukraine Crisis, Challenges Faced In Indo-Pacific

The Quad leaders discussed the ongoing crisis after Russia's invasion of Ukraine and its impact on the Indo-pacific region.

New Delhi: The Quad leaders interacted for the fourth time in Tokyo today and put forth their views on the Russia-Ukraine crisis and ways to tackle the challenges. US President Joe Biden reiterated his support for Ukraine and criticised the Russian President for launching a war. He said," Putin is just trying to extinguish a culture. This is more than just a European issue, it's a global issue. Global food crisis may worsen by Russia blocking Ukraine from exporting its grains. As long as Russia continues the war, US will work with its partners."

Underlining that the world is at a "transformative moment" amid the Russia-Ukraine crisis making it a global issue, Biden said Indo-Pacific powers are going to be partners and lead a global response amid the Ukraine conflict.

Against the backdrop of the Russia-Ukraine that has completed three months, Biden, in his opening remarks at the Quad Leaders Summit meeting in Tokyo, said the world is navigating the ship through a dark time. "Russia's war on Ukraine has triggered a humanitarian catastrophe and innocent civilians have been killed in the streets."
