WATCH: Minor Altercation Between Voters And National Guardsmen Outside White House

Supporters on both sides, including the groups involved in the 'Black Lives Matter' agitation, had announced a gathering in downtown Washington DC on Tuesday night as the results start to trickle in after the counting of votes.

US Elections 2020: A minor altercation took place between people gathered in large numbers and National Guardsmen outside the White House in Washington with polls gradually closing across the United States amid highly anticipation of results. There were no injuries reported but tensions were running high outside the White House complex where supporters of Donald Trump and Joe Biden are present. Some reports say a man was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department. Security has beefed up at the White House, Washington DC and major commercial avenues across the US, with shop owners using wooden boards on their windows to ward off any kind of violence.
The 2020 US Presidential Election is being touted as the election of a lifetime and is seeing an unprecedented level of anxiety and fear across America in the wake of a bitter election campaign. Supporters on both sides, including the groups involved in the 'Black Lives Matter' agitation, had announced a gathering in downtown Washington DC on Tuesday night as the results start to trickle in after the counting of votes. Washington DC, where scores of shops and businesses were damaged during the violent race protests earlier this year after George Floyd's death in police custody, saw exaggerated security activity, reported PTI. "Fearing post-election violence, retailers board up windows and hire extra security, The Washington Post reported.
