Viral sach of Narendra Modi's old tweet on Indian Army
NEW DELHI: Amid a growing chorus that evidence of the Army's surgical operation on terror launch pads in PoK be made public, an image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tweet from 2013 has gone viral on social media.
Training his guns at PM Modi, even senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh on Wednesday shared that tweet, a phrase from Modi's speech in September 2013, which says: We are facing many a crisis. Is all this happening due to weakness of our Army.
Singh asked whether the Prime Minister still holds the same opinion about Indian Army?
When ABP News investigated the matter, it was revealed that this tweet is a part of Modi's speech which he delivered on 15th September, 2013, in Haryana's Rewari. It was Modi's first rally as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate.
The statement, in the tweet, is a part of a rhetorical question Modi posed to his audience while criticising the policies of the UPA government and not the valour of the Indian Army.
Here's what Narendra Modi actually said:
"Everyday, we are surrounded by dangers. Pakistan is not putting an end to its activities, China keeps threatening us often, it intrudes our land.. Not only this, it is trying to bar down the waters of Brahmaputra, to capture Arunachal Pradesh from us," Modi said.
"Is it happening because of the weakness of our army friends..? Are the neighboring countries troubling us because the army is not capable..?
"Friends, problem is not on the border, the problem is in Delhi, and thus we will have to find its solution also in Delhi only. Till the time we do not have an efficient, patriot and a government dedicated to safety of every Indian citizen in Delhi, it does not matter how capable our defence forces are, how modern warfare equipments we have, we will not be able to guarantee the security," he added.
