As quoted by several media reports, the Uttarakhand government in a statement said that the journalists are among those who are working round-the-clock as frontline people for communication, spreading awareness and giving out correct information amid the Corona-induced pandemic.

"Since the time the lockdown started and the country eased it gradually, even officers and employees of the information department have been constantly involved in communication and spreading awareness about correct information in tasks related to fighting COVID-19," the government said.
The Chief Minister has reportedly asked the administration to ramp up the arrangements to vaccinate journalists, officers and workers of information department without any age limit
The development has come weeks after Punjab announced judges, lawyers, teachers and journalists as eligible candidates the coronavirus shot in Ludhiana district.
The Chief Minister at present is working from home as he tested positive for the noevl Coronavirus. On March 22, he took to the Twitter and informed that he has tested positive for Coronavirus and is in home isolation for now. He said that he is under doctor observation and is in stable condition, and also requested people who came in contact with him to isolate themselves and get tested for the virus.

Uttarakhand on Saturday registered 439 fresh cases of COVID-19, pushing the state tally to 1,01,717. Of the total cases, 1725 are active cases while as many as 95,825 have recovered. The total deaths in the state from the viral infection stand at 1725 till Saturday.
