TDP Leader Arrested For Remarks Against AP CM Jagan, Tourism Minister

TDP leaders condemned Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy's arrest and asked why police did not initiate any action against Roja or YSRCP leaders for making derogatory remarks against Chandrababu Naidu.

TDP leader Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy was arrested on Monday for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Telangana CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Tourism Minister RK Roja on Monday night. The arrest was made amid high drama at his residence in Anakapalli district. From Sunday, a tense situation prevailed at his house due to the deployment of the police force. Earlier, two separate cases were booked against him for making derogatory comments against the CM and the Minister. The comments of Murthy also created a huge controversy in political circles.

After the arrest, police shifted Bandaru Murthy to Guntur. However, TDP leaders condemned Murthy's arrest and asked why the police did not initiate any action against Roja or YSRCP leaders for making derogatory remarks against Chandrababu Naidu's wife Nara Bhuvaneswari.

The former Minister made the comment after Roja's reportedly derogatory remark against Naidu and her celebration of TDP chief's arrest with fireworks. Previously, YSR Congress leaders condemned Bandaru for his statement. AP Women's Commission Chairperson Vasireddy Padma also wrote to DGP seeking action against Murthy. AP mahila commission gave a complaint to the police under various sections of IPC and IT Act.
