MG Hector's India launch date confirmed; Here's all you need to know

MG Motor is expected to price the Hector in the Rs 13 lakh to Rs 20 lakh price bracket.

MG will offer the Hector in four different variants: Style, Super, Smart and Sharp.

MG Motor has announced that its upcoming SUV, th Hector, will go on sale starting June 27. While bookings for the SUV are already underway, deliveries will begin shortly after the launch. The Hector will be offered with both petrol or diesel engines. The petrol unit will be a 1.5-litre turbocharged motor capable of dishing out 143PS. It will be available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. The petrol-manual combo will also get with a 48V mild-hybrid system which increase its fuel efficiency by 1.65kmpl.

The diesel engine will be a 2.0-litre unit that produces 170PS. The diesel engine will only be available with a 6-speed manual transmission. Have a look at the Hector’s powertrain specs in the table below:

MG offer quite a few safety features with the Hector, including dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, ESC, traction control and hill-hold control, as standard. The top-spec Sharp variant will get premium kit like a panoramic sunroof, heated ORVMs, rain-sensing wipers, powered tailgate, a 360-degree camera and six airbags.

The Hector will compete against the Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500 and Hyundai Tucson.
