Know All About Rahul Dev, First Hindu Pilot Appointed In Pakistan Air Force

Though its a rare sight of minorities making place in higher domains, Mahesh Kumar Malani associated with Pakistan People's Party (PPP) became the first-ever Hindu candidate to win a National Assembly (NA) seat in Pakistan's electoral history in 2018.

New Delhi: First time in the history of Pakistan, the country has appointed a Hindu youth in its national Air Force. Rahul Dev Bheel, son of late Tejmal Singh Bheel, has been recruited as a General Duty Pilot in the Pakistan Air Force. According to the Pakistani media reports, Rahul Dev hails from Nagarparkar area of Tharparkar, the largest district in Pakistan's Sindh Province, where a large population of the Hindu community resides.
Welcoming the decision, Rafique Ahmed Khokhar, PSO of Interior Minister was the first to break the news in Media.
Speaking on the progressive development of Dev’s appointment by the Pakistani Government, All Pakistan Hindu Panchayat Secretary Ravi Dawani expressed happiness. In a statement, he said many members of the minority communities are serving in the civil service as well as the army.
"Many members of the minority community are serving in the civil service as well as the army. Many doctors in the country also belong to the Hindu community. If the government continues to focus on the minorities, then in the coming days many Rahul Devs will be ready to serve the country," Ravi Dawani said, as quoted by Pakistan media reports. The development came 16 years after non-Muslims won the right to contest general elections and exercise their franchise.
