Kerala govt imposes a complete weekend lockdown amid 3rd wave fear as Kerala reported over 2,000 new COVID-19 cases for a second consecutive day.
Kerala will see a complete lockdown this weekend (July 31 and August 1) amid the fear of the third wave and a surge in coronavirus cases.
What's open and what's not
The Kerala govt has revised COVID-19 guidelines, allowing photo studios to open on allowed dates in the wake of requirements for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Shops selling seeds and fertilisers were also put under essential services in a recent govt direction. The price section of the Economics and Statistics department also added in an essential category in order to help these shops remain operational on all days with the required number of staff.

The COVID-19 regulations are based on a seven-day average of Test Positivity Rate (TPR) in Local Self-Government Institutions in Kerala. As per LSGIs places with low TPR will have certain relaxations and with high TPR will see stern restrictions.
