Raging Virus Spreads Like Wildfire In Karnataka's Hassan As 100 Students Test Positive
The district authorities conducted tested among 900 students, whose reports came as a shocker
Hassan: According to an ABP Live report, 38 students, who returned from Kerala have tested positive in Karnataka's Hassan district and after this jolt, the authorities conducted tested among nearly 900 other students, whose reports came as a shocker. Of the 900 students, 100 tested positive for the deadly virus, confirmed Hassan Taluk Health Officer, Dr. Vijay, according to ANI.
The Taluk Health Officer said, 21 of the 48 students of a private nursing college in Hassan, who came from Kerala between 17-21 July, tested positive for Covid-19. They are asymptomatic and undergoing treatment at a private covid care centre. There are 24 primary contacts of these 21 infected students and all of them had received their first dose of vaccine, Dr. Vijay added.

Earlier, it was reported that Students from Kerala who are residing in Hassan district in Karnataka will be subjected to Covid-19 tests, said district authorities. The move came after 38 nursing students who returned from Kerala tested positive for the infection in the district as on Friday. The authorities have sealed a PG hostel facility and quarantined 27 of their primary contacts.
The nursing students reached Karnataka to take up nursing exams about a week ago. Though they had come with Covid negative reports, the Hassan district authorities subjected them to the Covid-19 test. While the test reports of 21 women students were obtained on Thursday, authorities received the test reports of the remaining students on Friday. All of them belong to the same college.
