Karnataka CM BS Yeddiyurappa Condoles Actress Jayanthi's Death

Former Prime Minister & Former Karnataka Chief Minsiter HD Devegowda also has condoled the versatile actress' death

Bengaluru: Veteran actress Jayanthi passed away due to age-related ailments in sleep in the wee hours of Monday. She was aged 76 and is survived by her son Krishna Kumar.

Jayanthi has been a renowned name in the south cinema industry as she had worked mostly in all south industries with most of the then top male actors. In this context, Karnataka CM BS Yeddiyurappa condoled her death. Taking this news to Twitter, he wrote, "I am extremely pained with the death news of Popular Kannada actress 'Abhinaya Sharade' Jayanthi. Her contribution to the Kannada film industry and the void is impossible to fill. May her soul rest in peace, give strength to his family and fans to overcome the loss."

Condolences poured in from other celebrities as well after this news emerged.

Her first breakthrough was at the age of 14 when renowned director YR Swamy picked her to cast in his movie Jenu Goodu. And there was no looking back since then. She shared the screen with legendary actors thereafter.
