Jammu & Kashmir: Militants Attack CRPF Troops In Anantnag, One Constable Injured

As per the information, a constable has sustained splinter injuries in the attack and has been rushed to the hospital for the medical treatment.

In a sudden development, terrorists lobbed grenade and fired on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troops on Sunday evening. According to the early reports, the incident happened at Achabal Chowk in Jammu & Kashmir's Anantnag at 6:40 pm today. ALSO READ | J&K: 1 Terrorist Gunned Down By Security Forces In Anantnag, Encounter Still Underway News agency ANI quoted the CRPF sources saying "Terrorists lobbed grenade and fired on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troops at Achabal Chowk in Anantnag at 6:40 pm." As per the information, a constable has sustained splinter injuries in the attack and has been rushed to the hospital for the medical treatment. Meanwhile, the security forces have cordoned off the entire area and a massive search operation has been launched. More details are awaited. The attack has come more than two months after a terrorist was gunned down by the security forces during an encounter. A joint operation was launched with the Jammu and Kashmir police to locate the militants when firing broke out between the forces and terrorists at Larnoo in the Anantnag district.
